This editorial was written for the International Journal of Food Design in a Special Issue dedicated to FD education. The IJFD is the first and only scientific journal dedicated to Food Design, and

this 3rd issue put into context and focus diverse experiences and visions from around the world. The author was guest editor for this publication, beginning with this essay.
